Lucknow: The e-commerce company, Flipkart has donated 30 critical care ventilators to Uttar Pradesh as part of a collaboration to fight Covid-19 and strengthen the health facilities in the state.
The ventilators were handed over to the UP Medical Supply Corporation Ltd during a ceremony in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday. The CM commended Flipkart for its commitment to the health sector and welfare of the people at this crucial time.
“These ventilators will help to strengthen the health facilities in the state and ensure availability of critical care to patients in need. When the pandemic started, there was a shortage of PPE kits and N-95 masks but Flipkart also helped us with those. The company has also assisted the state in improving the supply chain of ODOP products and their marketing,” he said.
Flipkart’s chief corporate officer Rajnish Kumar said the company would continue to cooperate with the government in its effort to fight the pandemic. “We hope that these ICU ventilators will help in the fight against Covid. Flipkart is using technique and ecommerce to promote small and medium industries and provide them with a market place,” he said.
He added that Flipkart had strengthened the supply chain for MSMEs and generated employment opportunities. It also helped to increase incomes through export of goods.
