Uttar Pradesh Government to Establish Integrated Public Health Labs in All Districts

In a significant move to enhance healthcare infrastructure, the Uttar Pradesh government is initiating the establishment of integrated public health laboratories in all 75 district hospitals across the state. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to improving health services and reducing the burden on patients.

Key Features of the Integrated Public Health Labs:

Comprehensive Testing Facilities: The laboratories will be equipped to conduct over 150 types of tests, covering a wide range of diagnostic examinations.

Local Accessibility: Patients will no longer need to travel to Lucknow or private labs, saving both time and money.

Skilled Staff: Each lab will have a dedicated team comprising a lab technician, a microbiologist, a biochemist, and a pathologist.

Government’s Commitment to Health Infrastructure:

Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM ABHIM): The Yogi Adityanath government is actively implementing PM ABHIM, working on a war footing to fortify healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.

Construction of Critical Care Hospital Blocks: Under the scheme, the construction of 50-bed critical care hospital blocks is underway in block public health units, district integrated public health labs, and medical colleges across the state.

Expansion of Health Sub-Centers: The initiative includes the establishment of 1,670 health sub-centers and health wellness centers, with a focus on improving accessibility to healthcare services.

Central Government Approval: The Central government has approved Rs 4,892.53 crore for the construction and enhancement of health facilities under these initiatives.

Vision for the Future:

The state plans to open 515 block public health units, 75 district integrated public health labs, and 22 district hospitals and 22 medical colleges with 50-bed critical care hospital blocks by the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

Furthermore, thirty district hospitals will establish 100-bed critical care hospital blocks, thereby reinforcing the vital healthcare infrastructure.

In order to guarantee that Uttar Pradesh’s citizens have access to cutting-edge medical care, integrated public health laboratories have been established.
