An official said, The prime accused Anees Khan in the attack, was injured in the encounter when the cops went to arrest him and died during treatment, while his aides Azad and Vishambhar Dayal were arrested.
Senior Superintendent of Ayodhya Police Raj Karan Nayyar said, “We identified and traced the accused based on technical and manual inputs, and a photo that was identified by the victim. Based on this, Ayodhya Police and a special task force conducted a raid on them.”
After this incident happened, there was an uproar in the police department. UP STF and Ayodhya Police were continuously searching for the accused. KSO of Pura Kalandar police station and two constables were also injured in this encounter. The UP government had put a reward of one lakh rupees on the accused. These people used to carry out incidents of looting in trains.
On August 30, the female head constable was found in a coma and under the seat in the coach of the Sarayu Express train. The lady constable was brought to the trauma center of KGMU, Lucknow. There were severe injury marks on many parts of his body including head, face.
In this heinous case, the Allahabad High Court itself took cognizance and ordered the immediate arrest of the accused. When the female constable regained consciousness, she informed the officers about the attack and told that she was attacked by two people. Currently, the woman constable is undergoing treatment at the trauma center of KGMU.
This incident with women constables took place between Mankapur and Ayodhya railway stations. The policemen found her unconscious under the seat of the general coach. STF and GRP were continuously identifying the accused with the help of CCTV footage. In order to identify them, the policemen were showing photographs to local people in the villages and towns located between Mankapur and Ayodhya railway station so that they could be identified. Police had also shared the photos of 20 suspects in several WhatsApp groups.
According to media reports, the slain Naseem had started flirting with the lady constable in the train. The lady constable threw her on the floor of the train. On this, the three miscreants launched a fatal attack on the constable. A woman soldier was badly injured by hitting her head against the window of the train. When the Saryu Express train slowed down before the Ayodhya railway station, the three miscreants escaped.
