Lucknow: A police official said that a woman has been arrested in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly hacking her 15-year-old daughter to death as she was opposed to her relationship with a boy of same area on Monday. The accused identified as Shivpati.
SP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said that after allegedly killing her 15-year-old daughter with an axe and throwing her body in a well with the help of other family members, Shivpati lodged a complaint at Manjhanpur police station alleging that his daughter was kidnapped.
Shivpati informed the police on October 14 that his daughter had gone to the fields for some work on October 2 and has not returned home since then. The SP said that based on her complaint, a case of kidnapping was registered against unknown persons and investigation was initiated.
However, some evidence pointed to Shivapathy as the prime suspect and he was arrested on Monday on murder charges, while his other minor daughter was held. He told that his daughter-in-law Meera is absconding and efforts are on to nab her.
The SP said that on the information given by Shivpati, the ax and stick used in the murder have been recovered, along with a gunny bag, which was used to hide the body.
Srivastava said the accused told the police during interrogation that he had asked his daughter not to continue her relationship with a boy from the same village. However, she did not agree.
Her Mother Shivpati confessed that at midnight on October 2, She, her other daughter and Meera allegedly killed the victim by beating her with an axe and a stick.
The SP said that after the murder, he packed the body in a jute sack and threw it in a well located in a field outside his village. He told that to avoid suspicion of police and people, the accused filed a case of kidnapping.
