Uttar Pradesh: Over 50 injured in massive fire at Durga Puja pandal in Bhadohi; 2 Dead

Varanasi: There are reports of more than 50 people getting scorched due to a fire at a Durga Puja pandal in Uttar Pradesh. The incident is from Bhadohi district. According to the information received so far, a child has died in this incident. After getting information about the incident, fire tenders have been dispatched to the spot. At the same time, the people injured in this incident have been sent for treatment to a nearby hospital.

While some seriously injured patients have been referred to Varanasi. According to the information received, around 200 people were present in the pandal at the time of the incident. Aarti’s program was going on, during which the fire broke out due to short circuit. However, nothing can be said with certainty about the cause of the fire, which is fixed after the completion of the investigation.

According to the information so far in the incident, more than 50 people have been scorched. Of these, 32 people have been referred to Varanasi. A woman injured in the incident told that the fire started due to spark coming out of the electric wire. Investigation has also started regarding this whole incident.

Bhadohi District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi told that the incident is of a Durga pandal located in Aurai town. Around 200 people were present in the pandal during the incident. Aarti’s program was going on, during this time there is a report of fire due to short circuit. According to the information so far in the incident, 52 people have been scorched. Out of these, more than 32 people have been referred to big hospitals in other cities including Varanasi. So far one child has been reported dead in this incident. The injured have also been admitted to different hospitals.

He said that this incident is unfortunate as we had already taken all precautions. But it is necessary to find out in detail about how this fire started. In the initial investigation, it seems to be an incident due to short circuit but we are getting the matter investigated. Soon the main cause of the fire will also be ascertained. Strict action will be taken against whoever is responsible behind this incident.
