Uttar Pradesh Set to Declare Employee Bonus and DA Ahead of Diwali

The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to announce pre-Diwali bonuses for non-gazetted employees and implement a four percent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for all its staff, extending the increase to pensioners as well.

Sources familiar with the matter have revealed that the state’s finance department has put forth a proposal for this initiative. The central government has already declared a four percent rise in DA, and now the state government is preparing to follow suit.

A senior official has confirmed that the finance department’s proposal has been forwarded to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office for his approval.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured that both the bonus and the DA increase will be disbursed to employees before Diwali. The request from the state government is to calculate the bonus based on a minimum monthly wage of ₹18,000. Currently, the state government calculates bonuses up to a maximum of ₹7,000, with 75 percent of the amount being deposited into the employees’ provident fund accounts, as explained by JN Tiwari, the president of the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Karmchari Samyukta Parishad .

In Uttar Pradesh, there are approximately 14-16 lakh state government employees, including teachers, and around 12-13 lakh pensioners who stand to benefit from this announcement.
