Uttarakhand: 10 people died due to electrocution; dozens scorched including policemen in Chamoli

Uttarakhand: A major accident took place in Chamoli, Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning. Sudden electrocution at the site of Namami Gange project near Chamoli market. Ten people have died in the painful accident. Many people are badly burnt. Pipalkoti outpost in-charge Pradeep Rawat and home guard Mukandilal are also involved in the accident. The death toll in the accident may increase.

As per information, work is going on at the site of Namami Gange project in Chamoli. At the time of the accident on Wednesday, 24 people were present at the site, about ten people have died due to scorching.

At the same time, many scorched people are being taken to the district hospital. DSP Pramod Shah told that some scorched people have been sent to the district hospital. The situation will be clear only after his medical examination.

Chamoli Energy Corporation Executive Engineer Amit Saxena told that last night the third phase of electricity was down. The third phase was connected on Wednesday morning, after which current ran in the sewage treatment plant premises. LT and ST wires are not broken anywhere from the transformer to the meter, after the meter the current is running in the wires.

Eyewitness told that the phone of the caretaker who stayed here at night was not ringing in the morning. After which the relatives came to the site and searched. Then it came to light that the caretaker had died due to electrocution. As soon as the information was received, many villagers along with the family members also reached the site. When he reached here, the police was probing the matter. During this, the current spread there again. Many people came in the grip of this.
