New Delhi: On Friday morning, 9 people died after a car was washed away in Dhela river of Ramanagar of Uttarakhand in Nainital district. While four bodies have been recovered, five are still trapped in the vehicle, police said.
Nainital Senior Superintendent of Police Pankaj Bhatt said that 9 people have been confirmed dead. The accident happened at around 5:45 am when the tourists, all residents of Patiala, were on their way back to Punjab.
A 22-year-old woman identified as Nazia was rescued alive from the car. She has been sent to the Ramnagar hospital.At present, the police administration along with the local people is running the rescue operation and with the help of the people, efforts are being made to extract the remaining bodies.
