In February-March elections, he had been sworn into the post after the BJP retained power but he personally lost to Congress from Khatima. BJP’s Kailash Chandra Gehtori, who had won this seat in the full election, quit, so Dhami got another change at winning this assembly seat.
Last week the BJP unleashed Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath to help campaign for Dhami. The pair held a massive roadshow in Tanakpur.
