Veteran Tollywood star Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away at around 4 am on December 23 at his Hyderabad residence. He was 87 years old.
Chennai: Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away at his residence in Hyderabad on Friday morning. He was 87 years old. The veteran actor had been a part of over 750 films since NTR’s time when he used to make his thugs in the beginning. In a career spanning decades, he has played hero, villain and character roles in family and social dramas as well as mythological films. He was also a Member of Parliament from Telugu Desam in the 11th Lok Sabha.
Publicist duo Vamshi and Shehkar took to Twitter to announce the news.

Actor Kalyanram paid tribute to Kaikala Satyanarayanain his tweet and he wrote: “Saddened to know about the passing of Kaikala Satyanarayana garu. An absolute legend who immortalised many characters on our Telugu silver screen. Om Shanti.”

ABOUT KAIKALA SATYANARAYANA
Veteran Tollywood actor Kaikala was born on July 25, 1935, in Kavutaram village in Krishna district. Producer DL Narayana noticed him and offered him a role in Sipayi Koothuru in 1959. The film did not perform well at the box office. However, he resembled NTR so much that he played dupe to the actor-politician in several films. NTR then offered a role for Satyanarayana in Apoorva Sahasra Siraccheda Chintamani.
He also turned producer and churned out films, including Kodama Simham, Bangaru Kutumbam, Muddula Mogudu. He went on to act in over 750 films. Apart from films, he also enjoyed a stint in politics.
Kaikala Satyanarayana won several awards in his career.
