Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana BJP chief, came under fire after a video of him showing him bringing Union Home Minister Amit Shah's shoes went viral.
Secunderabad: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana BJP chief, came under fire after a video of him showing him bringing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s shoes went viral on social media. When Amit Shah left the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad, Sanjay Kumar, who is also a Member of Parliament, was seen carrying the shoes and keeping them in front of Amit Shah.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader KT Rama Rao lashed out at the BJP chief, calling him a “slave” of Gujarat leaders in a tweet that included the video.
Telangana’s “self-respect” was recently denigrated by Gujarati slaves who carry Delhi shoes and will reverse any attempt to denigrate Telangana’s “self-respect,” TRS working president K. T. Rama Rao said in a tweet.
He further added that Telangana’s self-respect is important and it should be kept intact at any cost. Therefore, it is essential to protect Telangana’s self-esteem.
A tweet from Telangana Congress’s official handle reads, “Bandi kept the Telugu self-respect at the feet of a former tadi paar.”
Amit Shah landed in Telangana on Sunday and offered prayers at the Secunderabad temple. He addressed a public meeting in Munugode Assembly constituency and sounded the bugle for the by-election.
The Home Minister criticised the state government and said Telangana is in a debt trap in spite of the help from the Centre. He said that besides the family members of KCR, youths are not getting jobs in the state as promised by the state government.
