Actor Vidya Balan has taken legal action against an unknown person who created a fake Instagram account in her name, soliciting money from individuals by promising job opportunities. The incident prompted Balan to file a First Information Report (FIR) with the Mumbai Police.
The imposter allegedly created an identical Instagram handle to Vidya Balan’s official account and proceeded to contact individuals associated with the Bollywood industry. Using this fake identity, the culprit reportedly requested money from people, falsely promising them employment opportunities.
The Khar Police in Mumbai has registered an FIR under Section 66 (C) of the Information Technology Act. This action was initiated based on Vidya Balan’s complaint, which highlighted the serious implications of someone misusing her name and reputation for fraudulent activities.
This is not the first time Vidya Balan has addressed the issue. She previously mentioned the case on her Instagram stories, alerting her followers to the fraudulent account operating in her name.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Vidya Balan is gearing up to return to the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise. Known for her iconic role as Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy film, Vidya Balan will feature in the third installment.
Actor Kartik Aaryan, who starred in the second part of the franchise and will continue in the third, welcomed Vidya Balan to the project with enthusiasm. He shared a post on social media expressing his excitement about her involvement in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, set to release this Diwali.
