Vijay Goel in trouble over his NGO

New Delhi: Rejecting allegations raised by its own officials, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) modified its layout plan in order to allot a plot in the capital earmarked for a post office to an NGO that is linked with Vijay Goel in September last year.

As a matter of fact, the NGO of Goel kept asking for the plot, adjacent to a school it runs.

Three years back, soon after Goel became a Rajya Sabha member, Vaish Aggarwal Educational Society (VAES) — In DDA records there is a clear mention of Goel as vice-president, sought land from the DDA to set up a toy bank.


According to the sources, DDA found a method around the objection that a toy bank didn’t fall in any prescribed category by labelling it as “orphaned/children centre.”

The DDA’s Institutional Allotment Committee (IAC) gave a green signal to the toy bank proposal subject to a formal/valid sponsorship on May 5, 2016.

Saying that the minister was being dragged “into the matter unnecessarily”, BJP is saying that Goel has not been its Vice-President for many years”.
