Violent clash between 2 groups in Rajasthan’s Fatehpur amid polling, heavy police force deployed

Fatehpur/Rajasthan: A violent clash has taken place between two groups in Fatehpur Shekhawati of Sikar during voting for the assembly elections in Rajasthan. It is being told that stone pelting reported due to tension between two groups in the locality located behind Bochiwal Bhawan. After receiving information about the incident, a large number of police forces have reached the spot.

Following the incident, Police and paramilitary forces rushed to the spot. A clip from the incident spot showed forces in the area, attempting to maintain calm. According to the details, people from both groups threw stones, while some also hurled stones from the terrace of their homes.

Due to stone pelting, there is a situation of chaos in the entire locality. Voting was also affected for some time due to stone pelting, but soon the situation came under control. Police forces have been deployed in the locality to maintain peace. Many senior police officers are also present at the spot.

According to the information, the dispute first started between the two parties regarding fake voting at Bochiwal Bhawan polling booth. After this, supporters of Congress candidate Hakam Ali Khan and independent candidate Madhusudan Bhinda came face to face and started pelting stones at each other. Stone pelting continued on both sides for about half an hour. Many people have also been taken into custody from the spot.

Till 3 pm, Rajasthan recorded more than 55 per cent of voting. Polling in the state began at more than 51,000 polling booths at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. According to sources, voting was by and large peaceful across the state.

Earlier, the first phase of voting began in 199 out of 200 constituencies in Rajasthan. Over 5.25 crore voters are deciding the fate of 1,862 candidates in these 199 seats. Notably, polling in the Karanpur assembly constituency in Sriganganagar has been postponed due to the death of the Congress candidate, with votes set to be counted on December 3.

The state is witnessing a highly competitive polling process, with the BJP aiming to oust the ruling Congress, which is making significant efforts to break the pattern of alternate governments in the state.
