Kohli will quit as India’s white-ball captain right after the T20 World Cup and IPL’s most successful skipper Rohit Sharma -who will be seen in action in IPL 2021 leading Mumbai Indians in UAE, will take over the captaincy right after the T20 World Cup.

“Virat himself will make the announcement. He is of the view that he needs to concentrate on his batting and go back to becoming what he’s always been — the best batsman in the world,” the TOI report has quoted BCCI sources in this regard.

Virat Kohli to quit T20 & ODI captaincy – Rohit Sharma to takeover: Kohli (32), currently leads the team across all formats and is India’s most successful captain ever. But he is learned to have taken the call to share leadership responsibilities with Sharma (34), the BCCI sources told media.

Now the development has been confirmed as Kohli and the team management has decided to pass the mantle to Rohit Sharma. The reason behind this big shift is believed to be Kohli’s focus on his batting as captaincy in all 3 formats is getting too much to handle for the champion Indian and is affecting his batting.
