Virat Kohli’s Record Century Overshadows RCB’s IPL 2024 Struggles

Virat Kohli’s stellar performance in IPL 2024, where he notched up the season’s first century, has propelled him further in the race for the Orange Cap. Kohli’s remarkable innings of 113 runs off 72 balls showcased his prowess against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Virat Kohli’s Record Century Overshadows RCB’s IPL. Despite Kohli’s brilliant knock, RCB struggled to maintain momentum, failing to surpass the 200-run mark and settling for 183. This unfortunate outcome marked Kohli’s third IPL century in a losing cause, making him the first player to achieve this feat in the league’s history.

Kohli’s previous centuries in losing matches occurred in 2016 against Gujarat Lions and last season against Gujarat Titans. However, his exceptional performances were overshadowed by the opposing team’s strong batting displays.

The recent loss to Rajasthan Royals has raised concerns for RCB, as they now face a three-match losing streak after starting the season with a defeat against Chennai Super Kings. Despite a promising victory against Punjab Kings, RCB’s inconsistency is evident, leading to questions about their performance.

With their upcoming match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 11, RCB will be under pressure to break their losing streak and regain momentum in IPL 2024.
