New Delhi: In a recent online discussion, a passenger’s dissatisfaction with Vistara’s food ignited a broader conversation about airline meal offerings and service standards. A Vistara passenger came down heavily on the meal given to him on a flight and compared the food to those served in a hostel mess. Kripal Ammana took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared photos of the food served to him on the flight and criticised the insipid flavour of the food and referred to the meal served as “near inedible”.

“Wow! @airvistara your main meal aboard UK820 this evening evoked a sense of nostalgia! That of near inedible meals served in a badly run hostel mess by indifferent cooks!”

“Insipid flavours, the sort of texture that would indicate the chicken should have ideally been consumed hours ago, and the chocolate dessert, benchmarked perhaps to a kindergarten cookery project. Amazing!” the man wrote on Thursday.

Vistara’s partnership with the concerned passenger highlights the airline’s commitment to addressing customer feedback. The airline clarified that the decision to serve only vegetarian meals on short-haul flights stems from the need to optimize service timings and ensure that all passengers receive meals promptly.

This is not the first recent instance when a passenger has expressed disappointment over meals served on a Vistara flight.

The online debate sparked by the Vistara meal policy incident serves as a microcosm of larger discussions surrounding airline service standards and customer expectations.
