Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files beats Sooryavanshi, Spiderman by huge margin, earns Rs 179 cr in week 2

New Delhi: The sensational run of The Kashmiri Files continues to dominate the box office in its second week. The Vivek Agnihotri film has surpassed the week two collections of other post-pandemic releases like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sooryavanshi and 83 in less than a week. The second weekend collections of the film are towering over the week two collections of these films with a figure of ₹70.15 crore. The film has earned Rs 179.85 crore at the counters and has given other biggies an uphill battle.

Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the figures. With huge critical acclaim, hard-hitting narrative and stupendous performances, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is performing spectacularly well at the box-office.

The Kashmir Files tells the true story of brutal sufferings endured by Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir insurgency. It is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community. It’s a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.

The Kashmir Files’ cast features Anupam Kher as Pushkarnath, Mithun Chakraborty as Brahma Dutt, Darshan Kumar as Krishna Pandit, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Bhasha Sumbali as Shraddha Pandit and Chinmay Mandlekar as Farooq Malik aka Bitta, among others. The film is bankrolled by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners.
