Vote Of Confidence In Nepal Parliament: Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal won vote of confidence in Parliament

Vote Of Confidence In Nepal Parliament : Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushp Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Monday won the trust vote in Parliament, his fourth floor test within 18 months of taking office. Prachanda, 69, leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) – the third largest party in the House of Representatives (HoR), got 157 votes in the 275-member House of Representatives.

A total of 158 MPs took part in the voting. The main opposition party Nepali Congress boycotted the voting process. One HoR member remained neutral.

The vote comes days after one of the coalition partners, the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), withdrew its support to the government last week, leaving the coalition.

This was the fourth time that Prachanda sought a trust vote in the House since he assumed the post of Prime Minister in December 2022.
