Lucknow: In summer, many skin related problems start happening and the skin needs special care. In such a situation, plum can show miraculous effect. Plums are one of the rarely available fruits in India. Plums are delicious juicy fruit and available in a variety of color. Plums are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. They are loaded with Vitamin A, C, K, B1, B2, B3, as well as Vitamin E. Also, the fruit comes with minerals, such as potassium, calcium, zinc, etc. Also, plums are low in calorie but high in dietary fiber. Know its beauty benefits –

# Anti-ageing properties:
Plums have anti-aging properties that help keep the skin young. It is very effective in reducing the signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines etc. It also contains vitamins C and E as well as beta-carotene which fight free radicals and protect the cells of our body from oxidative damage.

Take 1-2 plums and take out the pulp. Mash the pulp and then mix it with either rose water or cucumber juice. Apply the resultant mixture all over the face. Allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with normal water. Repeat regularly.

# Improves Skin Texture:
Plums are a good source of Vitamin C which is beneficial for the skin. It helps in making the skin glowing. Eating it keeps the skin glowing, as well as provides relief from the blemishes present on the face. Apart from this, it also protects the skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

Drinking plum juice on daily basis is very helpful in enhancing the collagen production and thus rejuvenates the skin.

# Good for acne breakouts:
Vitamins A and C present in plums help to remove excess oil from the skin, which gives relief from the problem of acne and pimples. It also removes toxins from the skin and protects against all skin infections and allergies. It is also beneficial for the skin that has become dry and lifeless from the sun.

Take the pulp of plum and mix cucumber juice and apply it on the face. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash the face with fresh water.

# Protects skin from sun damage:
Plums are rich in protein, which protects the face from sun damage. The UV rays of the sun can cause damage to your skin when you are exposed to the sun rays for prolonged duration. Plums have high amounts of antioxidants also along with vitamin C and E provide an effective shield against the sunrays and reduce the sun damage. These anti oxidants fight off free radicals, boost new cell growth, preserves the youthfulness of our skin as well as prevent the skin from getting rough and wrinkled due to severe sun damage.

First boil a few plums and take out the extracts. Add a tsp yogurt and blend together. Apply the resultant mixture on to the face and neck. Allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with fresh cold water.

Eating plums on regular basis is also very effective in protecting our skin from the harmful UV rays of sun.

# Clear Complexion:
Plums act as a natural complexion booster. This is because it is rich in Vitamin C. Vitamin C is known for its ability to lighten scars and even out complexion over time. The presence of vitamin C in plums is considered beneficial for treating dark spots, skin discoloration as well as freckles. Also, it improves blood circulation in the skin, which can remove any kind of spots on the skin.

Mash two to three ripe plums in a bowl and apply the pulp directly to your face and neck. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with luke warm water. Repeat regularly for best results.

# Reduces under-eye puffiness:
Plums are very helpful in protecting the delicate skin around your eyes. It not only reduces the under-eye bag and dark circles, but also helps the under-eye area appear brighter and re-energised. This fruit can boost blood flow in the skin and as a result, reduces the puffiness under the eyes. Also plums contain vitamin C, which helps in brightening the under eye area and rejuvenating the same.

Take a plum and cut it into thin slices. Put them over the eyes and keep them for around 10-15 minutes. Remove the slices and splash some fresh water on the eyes. Pat dry and then apply an eye cream. Do this regularly to see noticeable result.

Due to excessive exposure to sunlight, the melanin in the body starts increasing rapidly. Due to which a black layer is formed on the face. And gets more pigmentation. With the help of plum juice, you can make the face glowing by reducing the effect of melanin.
