The female athlete has made these allegations in her complaint email to the Sports Authority of India i.e. SAI (Sports Authority of India). This whole matter has come to the fore during the camp of the Indian cycling team that went to Slovenia.

According to sources, the female athlete said that RK Sharma was asking me to behave like his wife. Because he loves me very much and wants me to be his wife.

The athlete alleged that in the meantime, the coach forcibly pulled her towards him, saying that he wanted to make her his wife. When the female athlete protested, the coach threatened to destroy her career by removing her from the National Center of Excellence (NCOE). Also said that she will sell vegetables on the road. When the complainant decided to leave the camp and return to India, Sharma called up his family. And asked him to marry her (female athlete).

The Indian cycling team that went to Slovenia consisted of five men and one woman. Which left for Slovenia on 15 May and was to return on 14 June. After this matter, SAI has already recalled all the athletes. The SAI said in its statement that the Sports Authority of India has received a complaint about inappropriate behavior of the coach of the Indian cycling team in Slovenia.
The coach was appointed on the recommendation of the Cycling Federation of India. To ensure the safety of the female athlete, she has been immediately recalled to India and a committee has been formed to look into the matter. The matter is being dealt with on priority and will be resolved soon.

After all this the female athlete requested a separate room from the SAI. On her request, the SAI arranged a separate room for her.
Due to which the coach did not take him to Germany for an event with other team members. A SAI source said that a separate room for the female athlete had already been arranged. Because she was the only female member of the team and there was no need for her to share the room with anyone.

Now, Coach Sharma will have to appear before a five-member inquiry panel, which will be headed by the head of SAI’s internal sexual harassment committee. The CFI has also formed a four-member committee to probe the matter and has promised full support to the victim. The CFI panel consists of General Secretary Maninder Pal Singh, SS Sudish Kumar (President, Kerala Cycling), Deepali Nikam (Head Coach, Maharashtra Cycling Team) and Assistant Secretary VN Singh.
