Adani Group has submitted an application to the Department of Telecommunications to participate in the 5G spectrum auction on July 8, 2022.
According to a person aware of the development, the group is learnt to have submitted its interest on 8 July, the last date that the telecom department kept for receiving applications from potential bidders.
According to the Department of Telecommunications, any new company participating in 5G spectrum will have to take a Unified License, through which access service, mobile or data service is provided in any part of the country. will have to do. Unified license will be given to an Indian company only. If a foreign company applies for a unified license, it will have to form a new company in the country or take over an Indian company.
The Adani Group is yet to issue any bid to participate in the auction of 5G spectrum. However, it will be revealed on July 12, 2022. Because according to the timeline of 5G spectrum auction, the information of the participating companies will be made public on this day. The auction of 5G spectrum will start from July 26, 2022 and around Rs 4.3 lakh crore spectrum will be put on the block for auction.
However, with the participation of Adani Group in the auction of 5G spectrum, there is a possibility of the tariff war starting again in the telecom sector.
