Watch: Indian Navy’s Light Combat Aircraft, MiG 29K jets made their first landing and take-off attempts on INS Vikrant

New Delhi: Indian Navy has achieved a historic milestone in the direction of self-reliant India. Navy pilots have carried out the landing of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Navy) on the Indian-made aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Actually, INS Vikrant and LCA have been designed in India only.

“The Indian Navy takes a significant step towards operationalising Indigenous Aircraft Carrier by successful landing of MiG-29K on INS Vikrant by Naval pilots demonstrating India’s prowess in Aircraft Carrier design, construction and operations while enhancing Navy’s combat readiness,” Navy said.

“A historical milestone achieved towards Aatma Nirbhar Bharat by Indian Navy as naval pilots carry out landing of LCA (Navy) onboard INS Vikrant,” the Navy said in a statement.

This is also important because aircraft and ships remain at the front during war. INS Vikrant and LCA have been designed, developed, built and operated in India only. In such a situation, it shows India’s technology and war capability.

INS Vikrant has been built at the Indian Navy’s Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kerala. At the same time, the light combat aircraft LCA has been made by ‘Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’ (HAL).

The construction of the Aircraft Carrier Vikrant is a historic and proud moment for India as India joins the league of select nations to have the cutting edge technology to design, build and build a state-of-the-art aircraft carrier. Can even equip him with weapons. Till now only countries like America, Russia, China and Britain can make aircraft carrier warships.

The 45,000-tonne INS Vikrant, built at a cost of Rs 20,000 crore, was commissioned to the Navy in September last year. Explain that 262 meters long and 62 meters wide INS Vikrant is the largest warship to be built in India.

INS Vikrant can simultaneously carry 30 aircraft including MiG-29K fighter jets and helicopters. The warship can accommodate about 1,600 crew. At the same time, it has taken more than a decade to build INS Vikrant.
