Kolkata: Partha Chatterjee, arrested in the teacher recruitment scam, has been removed from the post of minister by the Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal. The West Bengal government has relieved him from the work of the ministry from today i.e. Thursday, July 28. Let us inform that Partha Chatterjee was arrested last week in the SSC recruitment scam case.According to the order issued by the Chief Secretary of Bengal, Partha Chatterjee has been removed from the post of Industries Minister as well as from other posts. He has also been discharged from the Department of Information and Broadcasting, Department of Parliamentary Affairs etc.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s statement has come after the removal of Partha Chatterjee from the cabinet. Mamta Banerjee said, ‘I have dismissed Partha Chatterjee from the post of minister. My party takes strict action. There are many plans behind this, but I don’t want to go into details.
Parth was arrested after Arpita Mukherjee was caught. In the past raids conducted at Arpita’s house, Rs 21 crore 90 lakh cash was found. There was a raid at Arpita’s second house yesterday on Wednesday. Here ED got 27 crore 90 lakh cash and gold worth more than 4 crore came out, according to ED this is the same amount which was taken as bribe in teacher recruitment scam. Parth’s close aide Arpita Mukherjee was also arrested by the ED on July 23. Partha Chatterjee has been remanded in ED custody till August 3 by the special court. Apart from them, TMC MLA Manik Bhattacharya and Chatterjee’s personal secretary Sukant Acharya are also in the circle.
Earlier, Mamata Banerjee had said that supporting corruption is neither my passion nor my habit. I cannot say that everyone is innocent. I want to say clearly that the money recovered from a woman’s residence has nothing to do with Trinamool or the state government. But I am saddened by the way my name is being dragged into the matter of recovery of cash. I will no longer tolerate such false propaganda.
