We are in NDA, Chandrababu Naidu Confirms TDP’s Commitment to NDA Ahead of Delhi Meeting

N Chandrababu Naidu, chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), quashing speculations about shifting alliances. Naidu emphasized that the TDP’s alliance with the NDA is focused on the welfare and development of Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu’s Reassurance and Election Results

Addressing the press before heading to the NDA meeting in Delhi, Naidu stated, “We are in NDA, and I am going to the NDA meeting.” He highlighted the strong performance of the TDP in the recent elections, where the party secured 45% of the votes compared to YSRCP’s 39%. Naidu noted the significant voter turnout of 55.38%, with many voters returning from abroad to participate.

Challenges Faced by TDP

Naidu also mentioned the hardships faced by TDP workers, including harassment and media disruptions, with CID cases filed against media houses. Despite these challenges, the TDP achieved a resounding victory in Andhra Pradesh.

Alliance Victories

The TDP, in alliance with the BJP and Jana Sena Party, won a substantial majority in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, securing 164 out of 175 seats. TDP claimed 135 seats, BJP got eight, and Jana Sena Party won 21 seats. In the Lok Sabha elections, TDP won 16 seats, BJP secured three, and Jana Sena Party took two.

Naidu’s firm stance on remaining with the NDA underscores the party’s dedication to the alliance and its goals for the state’s development, putting an end to any rumors of a political switch.
