Weather new update: IMD forecast predicts very heavy rainfall and snowfall in these 5 states for next 2-3 days

New Delhi: The Meteorological Department forecast issued light rain on November 6-7 in many areas of North India including Punjab. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or snow can be seen in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 06th, 07th, 09th and 10th. On the other hand, light rain or snowfall can be seen in Uttarakhand on 06 and 07 and isolated light rain in Punjab on 06 and 07 November.

New Delhi: The Meteorological Department forecast issued light rain on November 6-7 in many areas of North India including Punjab. Due to which the improvement in the air can be seen. Actually, a large part of Delhi’s pollution is due to stubble burning and Punjab is currently burning the maximum amount of stubble. Due to the rain, there can be some relief from the stubble smoke. Let us tell you that this time the highest number of incidents of stubble burning have been recorded in Punjab, which is also the highest in comparison to other states.

Simultaneously, according to the Meteorological Department’s forecasting agency Skymet, a Western Disturbance is persisting over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining region and an induced cyclonic circulation is over Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. The easterly winds will continue to blow for at least the next 2-3 days. Therefore, the contribution of smoke from farm fires will remain at a lower level. But from November 9, once again the winds will change their direction, due to which pollution will increase further.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain or snow can be seen in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 06th, 07th, 09th and 10th. On the other hand, light rain or snowfall can be seen in Uttarakhand on 06 and 07 and isolated light rain in Punjab on 06 and 07 November.

Isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall is also likely over Kashmir Valley on 6 November. A cyclonic circulation lies over southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean and an east-west trough runs from Comorin area to this cyclonic circulation in lower tropospheric levels. Under its influence fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls & thunderstorm/lightning is predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe on 6 November and decrease in rainfall activity over many parts of south Peninsular India thereafter for subsequent 2-3 days.

Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls are forecasted for Andaman & Nicobar Islands during 6-8 November. A low-pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast around 9 November. It is very likely to move northwestwards towards Tamilnadu-Puducherry coasts with possible slight intensification during subsequent 48 hours.

Talking about the temperature of Delhi, fog is expected here for the next two days. The minimum temperature in the national capital for the next two days is 17 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature remains at 31 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky during the day.
