According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in 17 states of the country including Delhi-NCR for the next 2-3 days. Light to moderate rain is likely over UP, Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan till October 11. Talking about Haryana, it will continue to rain intermittently even today. Delhi-NCR is also expected to continue with drizzle till October 11. During this time it will be cloudy and there will be rain and thundershowers.
Heavy rain in Delhi-NCR even today
The Meteorological Department says that rain is expected to continue in the surrounding areas including Delhi, Noida-Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram. After October 11, there will be a possibility of getting relief in rain. The department has also shared the reason for the rain happening at this time for the people. According to the department, the departure of monsoon was largely done by 30 September. But a few days later, the western disturbance has knocked. Due to this, the process of rain has started again in North India.
Yellow alert for 2 days in Maharashtra
At the same time, the pressure of cyclonic winds remains in the eastern areas of the country. Due to which it is raining in Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Maharashtra for the next 3-4 days from today. According to the department, there may be heavy rain in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Konkan areas for the next 3-4 days. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for the next two days for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar.
Delhi Police issued advisory
In view of the traffic jams and road accidents due to incessant rains, Delhi Police has issued an advisory. The police have tweeted and said that they should plan to travel outside only after seeing the rain alert and the weather pattern.
