According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of 70 to 200 mm of rain during this period in many other areas including these districts of the state.
Ranchi-based meteorological department head said that the monsoon has become more active due to the conversion of the low pressure area into a deep depression. Due to this, rain can cause havoc in many districts of Jharkhand today i.e. on 20th August. In the next few hours, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Chatra, East Singhbhum and Koderma districts of Jharkhand. He said that strong winds would also prevail during this period and the speed of the winds could be up to 40 to 50 kmph. A red alert has also been issued regarding this. People need to be cautious about this.
He said that lightning can also fall in these districts along with thunder. According to the Meteorological Center, the wind speed is likely to reach 45-65 kmph in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, Seraikela-Kharsanwa, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Sahibganj. Wind speed reaching 30 to 50 kmph is very likely in other parts. There is also a possibility of thunder and lightning at many places.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature may drop by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius due to the possibility of good rains in the state. Ranchi-based meteorological department head said that due to the effect of the system, except North Chotanagpur, many other parts of the state including Ranchi received light to moderate rain and heavy rain at some places since Friday morning. Due to the strong system after the evening, it rained in Ranchi and other areas in the night as well. At the same time, there was heavy rain at isolated places till late night in Palamu division including Kolhan. It also rained in Santalpargana.
