Vande Bharat Express between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 30 December 2022. Since then, the Vande Bharat Express has been targeted twice in two days in West Bengal.
Kolkata: After Vande Bharat train inaugurated in Bengal, second time Vande Bharat express train is attacked. Stones were pelted on Vande-Bharat here for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. According to the information, this time the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat train was targeted by anti-social elements before it was going towards its destination station. The recently started Vande Bharat Express between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri has been pelted with stones for the second time within two days.
Giving information, a railway official said that two coaches were pelted with stones on Tuesday near Phansidewa area of Darjeeling district. In this, the glasses of two windows of the Vande Bharat Express train were damaged. This is the second attack, earlier on Monday, stones were pelted targeting the Vande Bharat Express near Malda. In which the window glasses of the train were broken.
The RPF commander said that the incident took place near Phansidewa area of Darjeeling district. Glasses of coaches C-3 and C-6 of Vande Bharat Express were found damaged due to stone pelting. According to the official, when the Vande Bharat Express (22302) reached Malda Town railway station at around 5.57 pm on Tuesday, on checking, marks of stone pelting were found on the glass panes of coach number C-3 and C-6. Investigation revealed that at around 1.20 pm when the train was going towards New Jalpaiguri, both the coaches were pelted with stones before reaching the yard.
Let us tell you that earlier a similar incident of stone pelting took place in Malda district on Monday, when stones were pelted at Vande Bharat train near Kumarganj station while coming from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah. The door of coach C-13 was damaged in this stone pelting. Significantly, this is the second incident of stone pelting within three days on the Vande Bharat Express which started from January 1. Explain that regarding this incident, the Railways has started investigation by registering an FIR against unknown people.
Earlier on December 30, People in West Bengal welcomed their first Vande Bharat express as Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the semi-high-speed train that will run between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri.
The nation`s seventh Vande Bharat express train between Howrah-New Jalpaiguri (NJP) was been flagged off through video conferencing by the Prime Minister.
