Syed Ashrin Sultana and B. Nagaraju had an affair for a long time. They wanted to tie the knot to start a well-established family life. But the family members of the girl were not ready to accept them. In the end, their love affair posed danger to their lives.
Sultana belongs to a Muslim family. Her family members were against her relationship with Nagaraju, a Hindu Dalit. Sultan’s brother tried several times to kill her but failed in his mission.
My brother tried to kill me before my marriage. “He tried to hang me twice,” Sultana said in an interview.
Their lives turned into hell. So the couple decided to leave their native place and elope to Hyderabad, and they tied the knot there at an Arya Samaj Mandir about two months ago. But the threat to their lives continued to loom.
“My mother had warned us that my brother would kill us if we got married,” Sultana explained.
The married couple decided to change their SIM cards so that no one could track them and live a happy married life. They went to the Superintendent of Police’s office and informed him about the events they were facing and sought police protection. Unfortunately, all their plans proved futile.
However, Sultana’s brother, Syed Mobin Ahmed, and his allies devised a strategy to eliminate Nagaraju, his sister’s husband.
About a month ago, the accused tried to find out the location of Nagaraju but was unsuccessful in identifying it.
Since then the accused had been following both. At last Sultana’s brother found him at Panjala Anil Kumar Colony, Saroornagar. The couple was travelling together on their scooty. But they were tackled by Mobin Ahmed and Masood Ahmed. The duo started beating Nagaraju with an iron rod and stabbed him to death on the spot.
Sultana said she begged her brother for mercy and requested onlookers for help, but it went in vain. The attackers fled the spot after the confirmation of Nagarju’s death.
