Except for losing the toss, otherwise, Indian women cricketers dominated throughout the proceedings. In the beginning, Indian bowlers were superb, and their line and length were remarkable. All the bowlers bowled on an accurate line and never allowed the Island batters to free their arms. Renuka Singh was unplayable. She grabbed three wickets and conceded just five runs in three overs.

India restricted the Sri Lankan women to just 65 runs in 20 overs. India did not like to stretch the match; they wanted an early celebration and completed the formality in just 8.3 overs. Smriti Mandhana did most of the scoring and made 51 runs in just 25 deliveries; more than a 200 strike rate is rare in women’s cricket.

Renuka Singh is declared Player of the Match for his tremendous bowling effort. Deepti Sharma was named Player of the Tournament for her outstanding all-round performance throughout the tournament.

After the match, Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper, said we should give credit to the bowlers, and the fielding unit that was very good today from ball one. We didn’t want to give them easy runs as every ball is important. We are proud of the way we performed today.
