Women’s help desk and women beat formed in all police stations: CM Yogi

Lucknow, February 25: CM Yogi addressed the issue of women’s empowerment in the house. He said, “Opposition parties were asking about women’s help desk. Women’s help desk has been established in all the 1537 police stations and 1584 GRP stations of the state. In each district, an additional women’s police station, as well as an additional women counseling post, has been established.”

He continued: A total of 10417 women beat has been formed in all the 1537 police stations of the state and a ‘Mission Shakti Kaksha’ has also been constructed in all the gram panchayats of the state where the village secretariat has been set up. As of 2017, the number of women personnel in Uttar Pradesh Police was only 13,000, today this number is more than 32,000.

Because of the successful prosecution of women’s and children’s rights violations, 35 criminals have received the death penalty, more than 1200 have received sentences of more than ten years, over 1445 have received heavy fine penalty, 1325 have received life sentences, and more than 3420 have received sentences of less than ten years.

More than 5,000 criminals who committed crimes against women have been externed.
