Yogi Adityanath Government Approves ‘Vedic City Sarnath’ Township in Varanasi

The Yogi Adityanath government has given its approval for the development of a new township project named ‘Vedic City Sarnath’ in Varanasi, the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Spanning 109.9 hectares of land in Sarnath, approximately eight kilometers from Varanasi, the project aims to revitalize the area where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.

During the board meeting of the Housing and Development Board, the proposal for ‘Vedic City Sarnath’ was greenlit. The government plans to acquire 109.9 hectares of land for the development, with identified locations in villages Paterwa, Hasanpur, Singhpur, Hridaypur, and Bagatpur of Sarnath.

In addition to ‘Vedic City Sarnath,’ the Housing Board has already approved the New Ayodhya Green Field Township project, covering 1407 acres in the first phase. The project’s second phase will extend the township by an additional 442 acres. The first phase includes earmarked plots for mutts and ashrams, as well as commercial use.

As an incentive for potential homebuyers, the Housing Board will offer a five percent discount on its 4,000 vacant flats, with registrations open from November 12 to December 15. Moreover, the board will discontinue its first-come-first-serve scheme for selling vacant flats. Buyers interested in purchasing flats in groups of 25 or more will receive an additional five percent concession.

The development projects underscore the state government’s commitment to enhancing the cultural and historical significance of Varanasi, with ‘Vedic City Sarnath’ set to become a notable addition to the region.
