Chennai: YouTuber Irfan, resident of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is quite popular. YouTuber and food vlogger Irfan was recently honored with the Best Content Creator Award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. But recently he has been seen getting into a new trouble.

YouTuber Irfan’s YouTube channel is named ‘Irfan View’. Due to which he got himself into trouble by getting the gender test of his unborn child done. The Tamil Nadu government has sent a notice to them to reveal the gender of their unborn child.

Tamil Nadu Health Department sent notice

The Tamil Nadu health department has issued a notice to Tamil YouTuber and food vlogger Irfan for revealing the gender of his unborn child in a video posted on his social media channel, an official said.

The department has taken this step in violation of the PCPNDT Act, 1994. The department has also directed Tamil YouTubers to remove videos showing sex determination and gender reveal before delivery.

The state enforcement officer and the Medical-Director of Rural Health Services issued a notice to Irfan for violating the Act, which prohibits the determination and disclosure of the sex of an unborn child in India.

Told about his Dubai trip

Actually, in the video posted on May 18, the vlogger and his wife are shown undergoing a gender determination test in a hospital in Dubai. The video chronicles her visit to the hospital on May 2 and later shows her hosting a ‘gender reveal’ party in Chennai.

Irfan had talked about in the video that gender testing is illegal in India, but it is allowed in many other countries. Her Dubai trip as well as the gender reveal party were documented in a vlog on her YouTube channel, which has 4.28 million subscribers.

Video gets over 2 million views
The gender reveal video alone received over 2 million views, while the Dubai travel vlog received almost 1.1 million views. In the video, Irrfan openly expressed his desire to have a daughter and also shared his immense happiness on finding out the gender of the child.

Now the Health Department has directed cyber crime officials to remove the controversial video from YouTube. It has also sought an explanation from Irrfan and recommended police action against him.

Revealing the sex of an unborn child is illegal in India due to the PC-PNDT Act, which aims to prevent gender-based abortion and ensure the safety and rights of unborn children.
