Zimbabwe vs India T20I Series: The Indian team has left for the Zimbabwe tour with interim coach VVS Laxman. The team is going to play a series of five T20 International matches against the home team from July 6. However, there is a possibility of some players being left out of this series, who were made a part of the squad.
Actually, along with the 15-member Indian players, 4 players had gone as traveling reserves for the T20 World Cup 2024. In which Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan and Khalil Ahmed were included. However, two reserve players Shubhman Gill and Avesh Khan have already returned to India. Now there are five players who are currently stranded in Barbados due to bad weather along with senior players and BCCI officials.
There is suspense over Shivam Dubey, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh and Khalil Ahmed, who are present in Barbados with the Indian team, playing the series against Zimbabwe from July 6. These players will have to join the team in Zimbabwe by 3rd or 4th June, which seems quite difficult, because the team is expected to reach Delhi by 7:45 pm on Wednesday, 3rd July. After this the team players will join in the celebration of victory.
BCCI on Tuesday shared photos of the players who left for the five T20 series. In these photos, VVS Laxman is seen along with teammates Abhishek Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dhruv Jurel, Tushar Deshpande, Ryan Parag, Washington Sundar, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar and Ravi Bishnoi.
