New Delhi: On Monday, a man complained about getting non-vegetarian momos instead of a vegetarian dish on Zomato. The man was identified as Akash Gupta. He slammed the online delivery platform for sending him a meat item during Navratri. Akash Gupta tagged Zomato on x while sharing multiple photos of the food packets he received.
The photos show the food packets sealed with tape with “non-veg” written on them. He also shared a screenshot of his order, which showed he had asked for vegetarian pan-fried momos, veg momburgers and a soft drink from a popular momo joint.
On social media platform X, Gupta wrote,“Hello @Wowmomo4u, @zomatocare @zomato, I’m pure vegetarian and I ordered veg things but I got all nonveg items from your outlet , and the bad things is navratri going on how you can make this big mistake, there is clearly mention item detail.”

The festival of Navratri began on April 9 and will conclude on April 17. Last year, Zomato and fast food chain McDonald’s were jointly fined Rs 1 lakh by the Jodhpur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum for serving non-vegetarian food to a customer who had ordered a vegetarian meal.
