106 Telangana officials expelled by Election Commission for attending KCR’s party meet

The Election Commission (ECI) has suspended 106 government employees in Siddipet district of Telangana for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Hyderabad: The Election Commission (ECI) has suspended 106 government employees in Siddipet district of Telangana for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). These employees have been suspended for attending the meeting of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). Official sources said on Tuesday that a large number of government employees had attended the meeting held in a function hall on the night of April 7.

Based on BJP’s complaint, a flying squad of election officials visited the meeting venue. Seeing the flying squad, many employees ran away from the spot. Later he was identified by looking at CCTV footage. District Collector M Manu Chaudhary, who is also the District Election Officer, issued an order late on Monday night suspending 106 employees, sources said.

According to media reports, former BJP MLA and current Medak Lok Sabha candidate Raghunandan Rao had complained to the Election Commission about the meeting allegedly held without permission by the BRS candidate. The Area Assistant Returning Officer and Revenue Divisional Officer of Siddipet received a telephonic message from Raghunandan Rao on April 7, alleging that BRS was organizing an unauthorized meeting at the Reddy Function Hall in Siddipet in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Has been.

He said that some employees of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) were attending the party meeting and money was being distributed. “Immediately, the Flying Squad and Surveillance Team (FST) were directed to take necessary action and inspected Reddy Function Hall Siddipet at around 10 am on April 7,” the election official said. The team reportedly found that 10-15 people were still in the meeting. The team collected CCTV footage from the management of Reddy Function Hall.

On inspection of the CCTV footage, they found that the BRS leaders held the meeting in the function hall on April 7 without obtaining any valid permission from the Assistant Returning Officer of Siddipet Assembly constituency in violation of the MCC. An FIR was also lodged at Siddipet-III Town police station against BRS leaders Venkatram Reddy Parupalli and Ravinder Reddy Mareddy for organizing an unauthorized meeting in violation of the MCC.

The election officer said in his order that 106 staff members of DRDA Siddipet (MGNREGS and SERP) have been suspended with immediate effect. He said the action was taken considering the circumstances and after carefully examining the reports of the Assistant Returning Officer and DRDA, Siddipet.
