Texas: A horrific road accident has been witnessed in Texas, America. Seven people were killed and six others injured on Sunday when a vehicle hit them while waiting at a city bus stop outside a migrant shelter in the Waukee border city of Brownsville.

According to Brownsville Police Officer, the accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. US time. Victor Maldonado, director of the shelter Bishop Enrique San Pedro Ozanam Center, said he checked CCTV after receiving a call about the accident, which showed an SUV car had run over people.

The city bus stop is across the street from the shelter and is not marked. Maldonado said there was no coco bench at the bus stop and people waiting there were standing side by side. He said most of the victims were Venezuelan men. The car driver has been taken into custody after the accident.

Maldonado said that in the video we saw that the SUV Range Rover bounced about a hundred feet after hitting the people sitting at the bus stop. The Ozanam shelter in Brownsville is the only shelter open overnight and manages the release of thousands of immigrants from federal custody.

Police have not revealed the identity of the driver. According to news reports, the driver was a Hispanic man. Officials are still investigating whether the crash was intentional or accidental. According to him, eyewitnesses have said that they saw the car losing control. He said immigrants live in shelters while they wait for permanent housing.
