8 Lok Sabha personnel suspended by secretariat over huge security breach yesterday

New Delhi: In a shocking breach of security, at least eight Lok Sabha personnel have been suspended over the massive security lapse that occurred in Parliament on Wednesday, which saw two intruders jumped from the visitor’s gallery in the Lok Sabha. Rampal, Arvind, Vir Das, Ganesh, Anil, Pradeep, Vimitt and Narendra were among the eight personnel suspended.

Yesterday two men barged into India’s Parliament, the House of the People, the Lok Sabha, waved smoke canisters and created disturbance on the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack. The incident has created political tension, with an opposition leader claiming the involvement of a Congress supporter, triggering a wave of criticism of the government’s security arrangements.

On a day celebrating the resilience of India’s democratic institutions, two men named Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan disrupted the Question Hour of the Lok Sabha. They jumped into the chamber from the public gallery and exploded the smoke cans, filling the hall with a smoky cloud. Due to the uproar, the House proceedings had to be quickly adjourned. The culprits were immediately overpowered and taken into custody, a significant lapse in the security apparatus of the Lok Sabha.

The security breach has also increased political turmoil. A BJP leader accused a man named Neelam of being an active Congress supporter, revealing a political aspect to the breach. As the government faces criticism over the security lapse, the incident has further escalated the ongoing political rivalry between the ruling party and the opposition.

Following the breach, Delhi Police detained a fifth suspect in Gurugram, indicating that the incident was part of a larger, well-coordinated plan. The suspects, known for four years, had carefully planned the breach days in advance. Although only two persons were successful in securing visitor passes, six people were involved in the conspiracy. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to uncover all the details of this audacious attack on India’s parliamentary security.
