AAP announces 8 Lok Sabha candidates for Punjab, fields Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday announced the first list of eight candidates for Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party is contesting alone on 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state. 8 candidates have been announced in the first list of Punjab. Aam Aadmi Party has uploaded the list of candidates on its X account. It has fielded five cabinet ministers.

AAP has announced candidates for Amritsar, Patiala, Faridkot, Bathinda, Sangrur, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib and Khadur Sahib seats. AAP has fielded Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal from Amritsar, Laljit Singh Bhullar from Khadoor Sahib, Sushil Kumar Rinku from Jalandhar, Gurpreet Singh GP from Fatehgarh Sahib.

AAP has also fielded Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer from Sangrur, Karamjit Anmol from Faridkot and Gurmeet Singh Khuddian from Bathinda. Congress, BJP and Akali Dal have not yet released the list of candidates. Arvind Kejriwal in February announced that his party would contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab in the upcoming general elections.

Kejriwal’s announcement comes as a major blow to the Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A bloc which is aiming to defeat the BJP at the Centre. Congress and AAP are a part of the Opposition’s bloc. Let us tell you that AAP and Congress are contesting elections together in Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Gujarat and Goa. There will be a tough contest between four parties in Punjab. A close contest can be seen between Aam Aadmi Party, Congress, BJP and Akali Dal.
