New Delhi: On Monday, Delhi court granted three-day interim bail to Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia. The court allowed him to attend his niece’s wedding function at Lucknow from February 13 to 15. Special judge M K Nagpal granted the relief to Sisodia from in the corruption and money laundering cases being probed by the CBI and ED, respectively.
AAP leader Sisodia has been lodged in the jail in the Delhi excise policy case since last year. The court had reserved its order on the plea seeking interim bail.
The CBI had arrested the former deputy chief minister on February 26, 2023 over alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. After his arrest by the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate
Meanwhile, The judge, directed the CBI to file a detailed status report about its further investigation in connection with the alleged excise policy case by February 22, the next date of hearing. The judge passed the direction to the CBI after the defence counsel objected to “non-full disclosure” about the status of the investigation.
