New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised concerns that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal may be arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on November 2. Kejriwal has been summoned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for questioning in connection with an alleged excise policy scam.
During a press conference, Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi accused the BJP of using such tactics to target the AAP because they know they cannot defeat Kejriwal in elections. Atishi stated, “There are reports that Kejriwal will be arrested on November 2. If he is arrested, it won’t be because of corruption charges but because he has spoken against the BJP.” She emphasized that the BJP is resorting to these actions because they are afraid of Kejriwal and his party’s electoral success.
Atishi also mentioned the arrest of other AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Satyendar Jain, and claimed that this indicates the BJP’s intent to eliminate the AAP. She further alleged that the BJP’s strategy is not limited to Delhi, and they may target leaders from other states and alliances, including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, another AAP leader, echoed Atishi’s sentiments, emphasizing that the party has grown stronger in the face of opposition. Gopal Rai, the AAP’s Delhi state convener, underlined the party’s commitment to working for the common man and its resilience in the face of challenges.
