In Delhi, AAP supporters and activists will protest in front of the BJP headquarters. CBI has arrested Sisodia yesterday after 8 hours of questioning in connection with the liquor scam. The performance will start from 12 noon on Monday.

Aam Aadmi Party’s National General Secretary Sandeep Pathak said in a tweet that, “Education Minister Manish Sisodia, who is preparing the future of lakhs of children of the country, was arrested in a fake trial. All Aam Aadmi Party workers will demonstrate across the country on Monday.” AAP’s national General Secretary Sandeep Pathak also announce the protests, which will reportedly take place in several cities, including Delhi, Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, Haryana’s Rohtak, and Noida.

The atmosphere in Delhi has heated up after the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday night. In view of this, an alert has been issued in Delhi. The Special Commissioner of Police took over the command of Delhi’s security system. Station police including station chiefs have been ordered to remain alert. It has been asked to maintain law and order everywhere. Delhi Police has received inputs that AAP leaders and supporters may create ruckus and protest against the arrest of Manish Sisodia.

After the arrest of the Deputy Chief Minister, Special Commissioner of Police Dipendra Pathak and Dr. Sagarpreet Hooda of both the zones of Delhi Police became active. He ordered all the senior police officers, including the station heads, to remain alert on wireless and through WhatsApp messages. All police stations have been ordered to patrol the area and check by setting up pickets. People were asked to stop coming from the CBI HQ side. Have asked to stop possible demonstrations at ward and assembly level.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested Manish Sisodia for alleged corruption in the implementation of the new excise policy for 2021-22. There have been allegations of destruction of evidence, falsification of accounts, corruption, giving and receiving undue favors. When there were allegations of corruption in the case, the Delhi government withdrew its new policy and again allowed government corporations to sell liquor instead of private hands. That is, the government had withdrawn the entire scheme. Since then the opposition was raising the question that when there was no corruption in the excise policy then why was the government forced to withdraw the entire scheme. There is black somewhere in the lentils.

The Delhi government had introduced the new Excise Policy 2021-22. The government wanted to give a new experience of buying liquor through this new policy. Sales were taken away from government corporations and handed over to private hands. Hotel bars, clubs and restaurants were allowed to serve liquor till 3 am under certain rules. Liquor was allowed to be served on the terrace and open space of restaurants and other places. Where the choice of the consumer was given importance, there was a provision to give discounts to the shopkeepers according to their own. Because of this, the benefit of ‘one bottle free on one bottle’ was also given.
