After failing in 2 subjects in CBSE Class-12 exams, 16-year-old Engineering aspirant dies by suicide in Delhi

New Delhi: The police said that a engineering aspirant student allegedly committed suicide after he scored less than the passing marks in two subjects in the CBSE Class 12 exams. The deceased was 16-year-old. This incident happened in east Laxmi Nagar area of Delhi on Monday.

New Delhi: The police said that a engineering aspirant student allegedly committed suicide after he scored less than the passing marks in two subjects in the CBSE Class 12 exams. The deceased was 16-year-old. This incident happened in east Laxmi Nagar area of Delhi on Monday.

Official said that the boy was identified as Arjun Saxena. He was belonged to Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. He lived in a rented paying-guest accommodation. Police said that the student was depressed after failing in two subjects. However, no suicide note was recovered from the spot.

About this incident, a senior police said his body was found hanging from the fan in his room. The police had to break open the door of the PG. He added that the student was staying in a rented house away from his hometown to prepare for his Class 12 exams as well as engineering entrance exams.

Citing statements of other occupants of the paying guest accommodation,the official said, “He had failed in two subjects in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 examination, the results of which were declared on Monday, and was suffering from depression.”

Police said family members of Saxena has been informed and the body has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem, he added. After this incident, an investigation has been launched to ascertain the exact reason behind the step.
