Agra: A horrific accident took place before the wedding ceremony in a house in Sundarban Colony of Sikandra area in Agra. A gas cylinder caught fire while cooking in an empty house. Two women who came to work with the confectioner were burnt alive, while a young man has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The local people somehow extinguished the cylinder fire. There was an uproar in the marriage house due to the accident.
The son of Madan Kumar, a resident of Sundarban Colony, had a marriage ceremony on Sunday. Preparations are going on in the house since morning. The confectioner was working in the vacant house next door. At 12.30 pm, a sudden fire broke out due to gas leakage from the cylinder. Nagla old residents Sheela and Leela, who were sitting nearby, got caught in the fire. Confectioner Kailashi also got scorched in the grip of fire. Hearing the screams, the people around reached. Somehow extinguished the fire in the cylinder by pouring water and sand.
The deceased are identified as Leela and Sheela and they are the residents of Nagla Budi in Agra. They died before being taken to the hospital. Kailashi has been admitted to a private hospital by the local people and the police. Inspector Sikandra Anand Kumar Shahi told that the fire broke out due to leakage in the cylinder. ACP said, their bodies were sent to the mortuary and legal action will be taken after the investigation.
