Punjab: On Saturday, Arvinder Singh Lovely joins Bhartiya Janata Party in Delhi days after resigning as Delhi president post of the grand old party Congress. He joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde and Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva.
He, along with four former Congress leaders, joined the BJP. These four former Congress leaders are MLAs Raj Kumar Chauhan, Naseeb Singh, and Neeraj Basoya, and former Youth Congress president Amit Mallik.
Recently, Lovely had quit as the Delhi Congress president protesting the party’s alliance with the AAP. He said the Delhi Congress unit was against the alliance with the AAP but the party high command went ahead with it.
In August last year, Lovely was appointed as the Delhi Congress chief. In 2017, He resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP but returned to the party within a year.
