Amit Shah narrowly escapes accident as his ‘chariot’ hits a power cable in Rajasthan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a close call on Tuesday when the ‘rath’ (a specially designed vehicle) he was traveling in came into contact with an electricity wire in Nagaur, Rajasthan.

The incident unfolded as Shah’s convoy was en route from Bidiyad village to Parbatsar to address an election rally. While passing through a narrow lane lined with shops and houses on both sides in Parbatsar, the upper part of Shah’s ‘rath’ made contact with a power line, resulting in a spark and the subsequent snapping of the wire. A video capturing the incident also circulated online .

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced that an inquiry would be carried out to investigate the incident.

Immediate action was taken as the vehicles following Shah’s ‘rath’ promptly came to a halt, and the electricity supply was disconnected. Shah was then transferred to another vehicle, allowing him to continue on to Parbatsar where he addressed the election rally.

During his visit to Rajasthan, Shah delivered speeches at three rallies in Kuchaman, Makrana, and Nagaur in support of the party candidates for the assembly elections scheduled for November 25.

In Jaipur, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, during a press conference, assured that a thorough inquiry would be initiated to examine the incident involving Amit Shah’s convoy and the power cable. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining safety protocols during high-profile political rallies and events.
