South Africa: On Thursday, Indian dairy product manufacturer Amul will sponsor the US and South Africa teams during the T20 World Cup in June. The respective cricket boards of the two teams unveiled the partnership on Thursday, highlighting Amul’s support for cricketing endeavors on the global stage. The US will make its debut as co-host in the tournament starting June 1.
Many matches including the semi-finals and finals in the tournament will be held in the West Indies. The first match of the World Cup will be played between the US and Canada on June 1. Amul has previously sponsored the Netherlands, South Africa and Afghanistan.
Amul Managing Director Jayen Mehta said in a statement, “The quality of Amul milk will help the US cricket team win hearts across the world. We wish the team all the best for the upcoming T20 World Cup.”
Regarding the sponsorship of South Africa, he said, “Amul has been associated with the South African team since the 2019 ODI series and the 2023 ODI World Cup. We are proud to take this partnership forward. We wish them all the best for the T20 World Cup.”
South Africa is scheduled to play its first match against Sri Lanka on June 3. As the teams gear up for this prestigious event, Amul’s sponsorship serves as a testament to the brand’s unwavering support for cricket and its global community.
