New Delhi: Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was honored with the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award for the third consecutive year. The award ceremony, recognizing outstanding parliamentary performance, took place at New Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi, where a total of five MPs were acknowledged for their exceptional contributions.

The awardees included BJP’s Sukanta Majumdar and Sudheer Gupta, Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Eknath Shinde, and NCP’s Amol Ramsing Kolhe, showcasing a bipartisan acknowledgment of parliamentary excellence.

Sharma, representing the Congress party, received accolades for his unwavering commitment to issues concerning the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. His active involvement in parliamentary debates and professionalism in executing legislative responsibilities contributed to this recognition.

Key Issues Raised by Sharma


Sharma raised critical issues, including the filling of government job vacancies, establishing an AIIMS unit in the Union territory, deploying specialist doctors, and various infrastructural developments. The MP advocated for the creation of the Andaman and Nicobar Service Commission, an alternate highway, a bridge from Minnie Bay to Mithakhari, and the introduction of the Udaan scheme in the islands.
