A judge named Sanjiv Khanna, who led the group deciding on Kejriwal’s request not to be arrested in this case, said before, “We will say what should happen for now on Friday. We’ll also talk about the main issue of challenging the arrest on the same day.”

Kejriwal was put in jail on March 21 this year. He’s now in Tihar Jail until further notice. On May 7, the group of judges, including Dipankar Datta, didn’t decide on giving Kejriwal temporary freedom so he could keep campaigning during the elections.

They waited to decide after hearing from Abhishek Singhvi, who spoke for Kejriwal, and S V Raju, who represented the ED.

What were they saying?
Tushar Mehta, who spoke for the investigating agency, strongly disagreed with letting Kejriwal out of jail, especially because of the elections. He thought it would be unfair to treat politicians differently.
